2008 09 26 - Booze - 6 o'clock club - Finale at Capital Tower

A beautiful deep red hue that seems almost opaque. The nose shows meaty, vanilla and gravelly notes that mingle with red berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins balanced with some mid-palate sweetness. Cherry and spice flavours in an earthy finish.

A deep ruby/purple wine that reveals loads of pepper, licorice, smoke, herbs, and sweet cherry and blackcurrant. Excellent texture, medium body, soft tannins, and low acidity make for quite a luscious style of wine to drink over the next 3-4 years.

Notes of licorice, smoked herbs, and meat juices interwoven with black cherry and darker fruits are followed by an expansive, broadly flavored, full-bodied wine with no hard edges, gorgeous fruit purity, and a long, spicy, heady finish. Drink it over the next decade or more.
