Hayat’s poor father and bedridden grandfather reside in a riverside shack. Hayat's father owns a small boat that ensures the family's survival through a series of illegal transactions. As Hayat passes adolescence, she finds herself braving a hostile world in which lonely adults are drawn to her innocence and beauty, while
her mother’s new family has little sympathy for her awkward transition into adulthood. The dark water of Istanbul's Bosporus takes on a symbolic character of its own, as many of the scenes are shot on the boat that transports Hayat and her father from one place to another. Reha Erdem’s film received the SIYAD award at the 45th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival.
