ITALIAN TREASURES
Paolo Saracco Moscato D’asti 2008
Tasting:
Moscato d’Asti is a unique wine where the beautiful aromas of the grapes are enhanced by a crisp, nice, acidity, a light frizziness and the sweetness of the natural residual sugar. The low alcohol content makes it a very easy, pleasant wine perfect to finish a meal with dessert or alone, as a nice mid-day break.

Blend: 100% Moscato Bianco Canelli

Tenuta di Trinoro Le Cupole IGT 2006
Tasting:
Robert Parker: The entry-level 2006 Le Cupole di Trinoro is an explosive wine. Ripe fruit, crushed flowers, smoke and bacon fat emerge from this deep, richly-flavored wine. Le Cupole di Trinoro is made mostly from lots that are culled out of the Tenuta bottling. It is an unusually complex wine at this level.

Blend: 47% Cabernet Franc, 13,5% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9,5% Petit Verdot
Rating: 90 Points by Robert Parker
Passopisciaro IGT 2006
Tasting:
Wine Advocate: The wine possesses incredible purity to its candied red cherries, spices and flowers. The wine blossoms on the palate with extraordinary depth and length. This gorgeous effort will be tempting to drink young as the sheer density of the fruit is compelling, but the wine is so primary at this stage one can only wonder what might develop in bottle. This is a wonderful effort from Franchetti.

Blend: Nerello Mascalese
Rating: 93 Points by Wine Advocate

Loosely based on the Edgar Wallace mystery novel, The Clue of the New Pin
Teacher Enrico Rosseni is having an affair with his student. While on an outing, the lovers learn that a fellow student is brutally murdered. Female students are being targeted and Rosseni is looking like a suspect. With shocking twists and bolstered by a superb Ennio Morricone score, this film ranks among the best "giallos" of the 1970s.
