Umbria ( Terni - Lago di Piediluco )

Lago di Piediluco

If time permits, Lago di Piediluco, another top attraction which is near to Cascata delle Marmore is definitely worth spending your afternoon.

Lago di Piediluco is the second lake other than Lago Trasimeno in Umbria. This lake is an ideal spot for a small picnic with some Italian panini and a bottle of Lungarotti wine to complement with the natural beauty of the lake. For more comfort, there are a few restaurants with windows offering charming views of the lake and offering traditional Umbrian cuisine.

The lake is a popular choice for canoeing and various lake sports. Occasionally there are seagulls swimming near the canoes or boats which seemed to extend their hospitality to the visitors. The cool waters are filled with tranquility and you can really soaked yourself in the peacefulness of this medieval suburb. Time seemed to be come to a standstill.

As evening approaches, the scenery is even more marvellous. The hills surrounding the lake forms a natural reflection along the lake and the symmetrical image is worth capturing into anybody’s camera. When autumn comes, the view is even more striking with the contrasting patches of yellow , brown land green foliage on the hills.

From Lago di Piediluco, there are daily buses to Rieti to explore the charm of region of Lazio.
